What distractions are there in the U.S. today? How are they similar to the distractions in Ancient Rome?

Distractions in Ancient Rome

The Roman Empire falls. To distract the common people in Ancient Rome the Government made many distractions from problems. There were 150 days of holidays, exotic animal fights and Gladiator fights. In Gladiators, Gladiators were forced to fight with each other and animals. Gladiators were slaves, criminals and Christians.

Distractions in U.S.

The distractions in the U.S are very similar to the ones in Ancient Rome. There are a lot of violent films and television shows. It is more interesting to see people die in a movie than there is to see someone fall in love. The sporting events in the U.S are also very similar to the gladiator fights in Ancient Rome. In the newspaper, there are nothing but bad news, such as, dog fights, the war, and murderers. In reality shows, we love when people get into arguments and fist fights. It is clear to see, then now, humans love disaster.
